The night of Qadr

In dictionary the word "Qadr" has meanings of "decree, value, honor, power". In the religious literature, it is called "Laylat al-Qadr" which is the night Quran was descended at.

In the Quran, in the 97th Surah called the same name of Qadr, it is stated that it is better than a thousand months.

In a hadith pointing out the importance of Night of Qadr, it is stated that as opposed to the fact that because other nations were given long lives, they could do more good deeds; muslims were given the night of Qadr. ( el-Muvatta’, “İtikâf”, 6)

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Whoever establishes the prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards (not to show off) then all his past sins will be forgiven." (Buhârî, Îmân 25, Savm 6, Terâvih 1, Leyletü'l-kadr 1; Müslim, Müsâfirîn 173-176)

I asked: "O Messenger of Allah! If I realize Lailat-ul-Qadr (Night of Decree), what should I supplicate in it?" He (ﷺ) replied, "You should supplicate: Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun, tuhibbul-'afwa, fa'fu 'anni (O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me)." (Tirmîzî, “Da’avât”, 84; İbn Mâce, “Du’a'”, 5)

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "It seems that all your dreams agree that the Night of Qadr is in the last seven nights, and whoever wants to search for it should search in the last seven nights of Ramadan. (Buhârî, Leyletü’l-Kadr, 2)
